Consultant Hand and Plastic Surgeon
In February 2006 Mr McKiernan was appointed a consultant in Northampton, establishing a new plastic surgery service. Provides a service for trauma, general reconstructive surgery, skin cancer and elective hand surgery. Also provides plastic surgery services at Danetre Hospital in Daventry.
Trained in all aspects of Plastic Surgery in Galway, Norwich, Newcastle and Durham, Preston and Manchester, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Sheffield and in Leicester. Following broadbased training covering all aspects of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, he later focussed on hand surgery as a sub-specialty interest.
Has published and presented on topics related to general and plastic surgery, as well as some medicolegal topics.
Mr McKiernan is also a certified practitioner for the Silhouette Lift – a new face-lift technique that is performed with local anaesthetic in less than 45 minutes and without any hospitalisation.
