Clinical Nurses

My name is Libby Stewart and I work here at Aurora Clinics under Mr. Adrian Richards of Consultant Plastic Surgeon. I’m one of the team here who you may see if you’re consulting for facial surgery, breast surgery or non-cosmetic surgery procedures.

I started training as a nurse back in 1980 and following a surgical career where I worked in theatre along side people. One day I've found myself working with Mr Richards and was really impressed by his attention to detail which reflected the way I liked to work and also his really nice and gentle, caring attitudes to his patients and we soon became partners in working together.

After a while of working in theatre with Mr. Richards he decided that he needed somebody to help him with his non-surgical procedures and to help prepare his patients ready for their facelifts, by the use of toxin procedures and dermal fillers, also looking after the patients following surgery so that they could gain the best out of their facial surgery. It was an aspect of work  thatI really jumped at the chance of doing. I really enjoyed the opportunity of working with ladies in that respect. I'll continue to love that and infact now work as part of Mr Richards training school passing on the skills to other doctors, dentists and nurses who would like to incorporate theseservices into their portfolio.

Another aspect of my work which was very enjoyable is that of breast surgery and I find that Mr Richards obviously would make the first introduction with the lady and check the surgery is possible but then the lady would come and see me and we spend a very nice hours together having a look at some on having possibilities and options for finding the best choices. We encourage her to bring along some dresses, tops at her turn, tops and a quite nice dress at session having a look at on helping her imagine what her future would be like when she has had surgery.

Quite often people are afraid to come in to clinic for a consultation, they feel that they might be a little-bit over-faced but here at Aurora we do offer a very sort of family-orientated service, it is very personal and very tailored to our patients. Our unique environment is very warm and friendly and we're really small teams that get along really well and I think patients really enjoyed the buzz that goes on here.

Our consultations are free of charge at clinic and for people who really feel that  coming into the clinic is just a little bit too much for them we're very open to people maybe sending us a picture or an email explaining what they would like or what is there problem we thought so and we can always perhaps give an opinion that way or make a first contact with them by telephone to just make it ease their coming into the clinic for them. Our pricing policy is available for all to see on the website so we'd like to keep everything very sort of straightforward and very easy for our patients to have the best experience they possibly can.
